Discover the wilderness of Jim Corbett National Park with our exciting Canter Safari — a large, open vehicle designed to accommodate up to 16 tourists. It’s the best option for those who wish to explore the jungle in groups and witness the incredible wildlife diversity of Corbett. The Canter Safari operates mainly in the world-famous Dhikala Zone, known for its dense forests, wide grasslands, and high chances of tiger sightings.

Each Canter Safari is accompanied by an expert naturalist and a trained driver to ensure both safety and an enriching experience. Morning and evening rides let visitors experience the breathtaking beauty of Corbett — from misty mornings with deer grazing in the fields to mesmerizing sunsets over the Ramganga River.

Canter Safaris are conducted twice daily — morning and evening.
  • Morning Safari: 06:00 AM to 11:30 AM
  • Evening Safari: 12:00 PM to 05:30 PM
Timings may vary seasonally. Each safari lasts about 5 hours and covers the Dhikala Zone.
The Canter Safari takes you deep inside the Dhikala grasslands and riverine forests. You can witness herds of elephants, deer, wild boars, crocodiles basking near waterbanks, and even the majestic Royal Bengal Tiger if you’re lucky. The scenic views of the Ramganga River and Himalayan foothills make the journey unforgettable.
Canter Safari bookings must be made online in advance through the official forest department portal. Entry is allowed only with valid ID proof used during booking. The boarding point is at Ramnagar, from where the Canter departs toward Dhikala under forest escort.

Each Canter can accommodate up to 16 tourists, along with a guide and forest official. It is ideal for large families or groups wanting a shared jungle experience.
Canter Safari operates only in the Dhikala Zone of Jim Corbett. Zone selection is not available for Canter rides.
Visitors must provide a valid government-issued photo ID (Aadhaar, Passport, Driving License, etc.) used for online booking. The same ID should be carried during entry.
